The story of the goddess
To win Lord Shiva as her husband, Parvati performed intense penance for thousands of years. At first she lived on fruit and flowers, then on dry bel leaves, and finally gave up even leaves, which earned her the name Aparna. Her devotion moved even the gods. Maa Brahmacharini wears white, walks barefoot, and holds a prayer rosary in one hand and a water pot in the other. Worshipping her is believed to build self-control and dedication to one's goals.
How to do the puja
Bathe in the morning and wear white or light colours. Offer white flowers, rice grains and sandalwood. Offer sugar or mishri as bhog and share it with the family afterwards. Chant the mantra with a calm mind.
Mantra
