The story of the goddess

When nothing existed and darkness was everywhere, Maa Kushmanda created the cosmos with a gentle smile. That is why she is called the original power of creation. She is believed to live within the sun and give light and energy to the whole world from there. She has eight arms, so she is also called Ashtabhuja Devi, and she rides a lion. Her worship is considered especially good for health and long life.

How to do the puja

Offer malpua as bhog along with red or yellow flowers. After the puja, share the malpua as prasad with family and neighbours. Chant the mantra and pray for the health of everyone at home.

Mantra
